Iberê Camargo Bursary

Now in its seventh edition, the Iberê Camargo Bursary offered two artist’s residency bursaries abroad, one to the Blanton Museum of Art / University of Texas at Austin, USA, and the other to the Ecole de Beaux-Art in Rennes, France.

Marcelo Moschetta won the France bursary with the Le 48e parallèle nord: paysage project, in which he proposed working with the idea of shifted time and space, creating a logbook based on journeys in Brittany, on the 48th parallel. Marcelo is 30 years old and studied visual arts, taking his Master’s degree at Unicamp, Campinas.

Matheus Rocha Pitta won the bursary to Blanton Museum of Art, with the Drive Thru project. Matheus collected bags of earth and filmed from a car in Austin. He is 26 years old and has shown in solo and group exhibitions since 2001. He studied History at UFF and Philosophy at UERJ.

Mariannita Luzzati was also selected in this edition to take part in the Iberê Camargo Studio Guest Artist project. A painter, printmaker and video artist, she has shown in group and solo shows since the late 1980s, including at Pinacoteca de São Paulo, MAM/SP, MAC/USP, MAM/RJ, MAM/Bahia, Museu Nacional de Belas Artes, Palácio das Artes de Belo Horizonte and Museu Vale do Rio Doce de Vitória. She also exhibited at the 22nd São Paulo Biennial.

The ten artists selected to feature on the website are: Alexandre Assaly (SP), Alexandre Murucci (RJ), Cristiano Lenhardt (RS), Fernanda Soares (RS), Guilherme Dable (RS), Guilherme Maranhão (SP), Luíza Baldan (RJ), Osvaldo Carvalho (RJ), Roberto Bellini (MG) and Vanderlei Lopes (SP).
