Following the Argentinean Mathias Duville, Maria Bonomi is the Print Studio Invited Artist from March 22nd to 27th.
She is working at Iberê Camargo’s original print studio, that has been receiveing, since 1999, guest artists from different places and with different backgrounds, such as Daniel Senise, Jorge Macchi, León Ferrari, Nelson Leirner, Regina Silveira and Tomie Ohtake. On March 27th, Maria closes her week of work with an open talk at the Foundation’s auditorium about her career and her experience at the Invited Artist Programme.
Born in 1935 in Italy, the artist has been living in Brazil since she was eleven. Besides creating prints, Maria Bonomi is also a teacher and works with sculptures, paintings, costume and set designs and frequently with curatorships. She studied Art Theory at Columbia University, in New York, and has a PhD in Arts at the University of São Paulo. Maria has had many individual and collective exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, and has received a number of art awards in different countries.
The next Print Studio Invited Artist will be Célia Euvaldo, in April.
