The Iberê Camargo Foundation, which today operates alongside the house in which the artist lived in the district of Nonoai, Porto Alegre, will acquire a new base in 2005, when the Iberê Camargo Museum buildings are ready. The Museum will be built in Avenida Padre Cacique, facing the Rio Guaíba which flows around the state capital, on land donated by the Rio Grande do Sul state government. Designed by the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza, the building will be an architectural reference point not only for Porto Alegre, but for the whole of Brazil.
